Objectives and Organization of SYAD Burundi
The association “SYAD” achieves its objectives through sections established in different locations throughout the country, as well as through its partners. A section comprises members from a specific locality, usually a commune. It is led by a “section leader” and organizes itself to contribute to the achievement of the association’s objectives.
The objectives of the association “SYAD” are as follows:
- Encouraging Youth to Quit and Avoid Drug and Alcohol Dependencies: SYAD aims to raise awareness among young individuals about the harmful effects of drug and alcohol addiction. The association promotes prevention and provides support for those seeking to overcome these dependencies.
- Supporting Youth Initiatives for Peace and Development: SYAD encourages and supports young people in their efforts to promote peace and contribute to the development of their communities. The association provides resources, guidance, and platforms for youth-led initiatives that foster positive change.
- Promoting New Information and Communication Technologies: SYAD recognizes the importance of digital literacy and the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in today’s world. The association promotes the adoption and utilization of ICTs among youth, empowering them to access information, enhance their skills, and participate in the digital age.
- Assisting Widows and Orphans in Finding Means of Livelihood: SYAD focuses on providing support and assistance to widows and orphans, particularly in finding sustainable means of livelihood. The association helps create opportunities for income generation, vocational training, and social support to improve their overall well-being.
- Promoting Solidarity among Association Members: SYAD emphasizes the importance of solidarity and cooperation among its members. The association fosters a sense of unity and mutual support among its members, encouraging collaboration and shared experiences in achieving common goals.
